With the help of English law firm Pannone Corporate, a member of the PLG International Lawyers network recommended by Lamy Lexel, Metaventures invested US $8 million to acquire the Dubit game development studio at the end of 2021.
A recognised game studio and developer of virtual worlds, Dubit (with $7 million in turnover in 2021) is joining Metaventures, headed by Lyon-based entrepreneur and investor Jean-Charles Capelli, a client of Lamy Lexel, which led the negotiations for this acquisition.
This investment aims to finance the Metaverse Gaming League, the first e-sports games league in the Metaverse, the digital universe where you can move about, play and organise events in virtual worlds.
The ambition goes well beyond the world of e-sports (which already brings together 200 million players!) as the potential for entertainment (with concerts and fashion shows already planned) and advertising revenue is huge. To make Metaventures even more attractive, Jean-Charles Capelli plans to raise another €30 to €50 million to finance new acquisitions of successful games.
A top name in mergers and acquisitions and in the burgeoning digital sphere, Lamy Lexel supports its clients in their development, both in France and internationally, in collaboration with its partners in more than 75 countries worldwide.
