A new aid scheme has been created, the «French Tech Ticket», intended to foster foreign entrepreneurs to establish their start-ups in France. It is aimed to attract the best talents to France: a guarantee of job creation, activity and attractiveness of our country.
In order to achieve this, this aid program has a budget of 5 million euros for its first year of operation, and should concern 50 beneficiaries. Currently, the scope is limited to Paris, but is likely to extend to other cities labeled French Tech over time.
It is a welcome package, containing a grant for the entrepreneur and support and guidance for his/her installation, a residence card and a place in an incubator (hosting of his/her company in one of the thirteen private or public Parisian incubators partner of Paris&Co).
On the Lyon side, after acquiring the label French Tech City (dedicated to finance start-up companies in the digital industry or accelerators of start-up companies), the city welcomes a new association, called Lyon French Tech whose mission is to pool the digital industry players of Lyon and to enhance the contribution of the local ecosystem with the French digital excellence.
A program that Lyon Tech breaks down into three actions:
·Promote the digital ecosystem and the innovation of the Lyon area,
Host the digital ecosystem of the French Tech players around events,
Develop the attractiveness of the area and the relations between start-ups and companies, national and international showcases.
La Halle Girard, an iconic site of the city, will be the digital totem pole, after an extensive program of renovation which runs until 2017, and will then become the gathering place for all the professionals in the industry.
An extensive new step to anchor Lyon in the digital industry: the city will again host the World Wide Web event in 2018, an international conference on the Internet which gathers more than 4000 professionals!
